In the Sunlit Forest

Summer is the best, isn’t it?  Plenty of time to be outdoors in the warmth and everything is lush and green.  Now if only we didn’t have so many thunderstorms this year.  One can dream.  Scheduling sessions has been a bit tricky this summer with all of the sudden storms and heavy rain, but this day turned out just to be cloudy and it worked perfectly for some soft light in the forest.

This has been one of my favorite places over the last few years to explore with my family.  I am excited to be photographing at this location more this year.  It’s beautiful in the fall when everyone wants fall photos taken, but I am absolutely in love with it in the summer.  It is so lush with greenery, flowing streams, and another one of my favorites, emerald damselflies.  They follow you along the boardwalk dancing in the sunlight.

Now let’s talk about this beautiful mother and daughter (and soon to be little boy).  They were just as magical to photograph as the location.  I thought they looked like fairies or princesses in the forest.  It was just perfection!

We had a nice stroll together through the woods and down the boardwalk.  It was a joy to photograph them, I barely had to do anything but take photos.  They knew exactly what to do already!

Sometimes I am so immersed in photographing that I just keep pressing that shutter button.  I just loved the light, the greenery, and the interest the boardwalk added that I just kept going.  This little girl was patient with me though.  I don’t think she was too keen on taking any of just her, but you can’t tell from the photos!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family!  Enjoy your time this fall with your little prince!
